  • I began attending Instructor training in the fall of 2017. There was no in person training in 2020 and 2021 due to covid. I attended online classes in 2020. I then took a pause from normal course progression to fill the need for a certified Medical gas instructor at our training center. After completing the online Med gas instructor class in 2021 in person training resumed.

    • Plumbing service

    • Plumbing code

    • Trade related math

    • Foreman's class

    • Medical gas Installer and Medical gas Brazing

    • Medical gas recertification class

    • Backflow devices

    • Financial literacy

  • I have continued in the instructor training program taking classes to learn about the newest technology, tools, and materials. Such as:

    • #3055 Mobile Technology for the Construction Industry

    • #4017 Viega Train The Trainer

    • #3050 Utilizing Jobsite Technology

    • #4005 Copper Piping Systems, Advanced Installations, Specialized Design, and Safe Operation

Education and Certifications

  • Graduated from Johansen High School in Modesto California in 2002

  • Took two semesters at Modesto Junior college. Just basic required classes, except one of note. There was a combined history 101 and social studies 101 class called "The Grateful Dead experience". In which we studied the 1960s counterculture movement in San Francisco and how it effected popular culture for the decades afterwards.

  • After working a few months as a pipe tradesman to pay for junior college. I realized I liked what I was doing and the opportunity for benefits and retirement was too good to pass up. I started my apprenticeship in October of 2003 and turned out as a journeyman plumber in 2008.

  • I began Attending the Instructor training program in 2018 after beginning teaching in 2017. In 2020 I took the online Medical gas instructor course online, which pushed my graduation to 2023. Turning a 5 year program into 6 years. I did go for training again this year to take Mobile Technology for the Construction Industry and Viega train the trainer.

  • ASSE Certification: (Cert no. 47680)

    NITC Certifications: (Cert no 12019490

Charitable Contributions and Voluntarism

  • Over $2,000 has been raised from the auctioning off of my donations over the years. The highest being $800 raised in 2018 in Baltimore at the BronyCon Charity live auction. BronyCon's charity partner for 2019 was CureSearch, and the convention raised $100,000 for the organization.

  • For the last 3 years I have volunteered with many other Local 442 members to help with traffic control during the run. The most recent run I was one of the five volunteers that showed up early to help with the set up of the starting/finishing line in downtown Modesto.

  • Over the years, both before and after becoming an instructor, I have made myself available to the apprentices when they have questions. I’ve helped many with work related questions like plumbing code issues. I have also helped a few with house issues like fixing the plumbing for their relatives or their own house.
